Brownie Troop 166 of Longmeadow completed a tremendously successful project to help homeless animals! For their Bronze award, the troop collected cat food for the DPVHS Pet Food Bank. Cat food is greatly needed for the pet food bank—it is in much greater demand than dog food, so we are very thankful the troop decided to focus on it! In early April they collected food at their school, Dave’s, and AW Brown’s. Their goal was to collected 350 pounds of cat food, but they ended up taking in nearly 500 pounds! Additionally, the group transferred all of that food into gallon size Ziploc bags for the pet food bank. Wow! Excellent job!
