help for humans suffering the loss of an animal companion
When a much loved companion dies, we as humans experience grief and loss. And for many, the loss of an animal companion cuts as deeply as any grief. The heart does not distinguish family members by the number of legs. The joy of the human/animal bond and the grief experienced when a loyal companion dies deserves to be recognized and honored.
As a volunteer for Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, the Reverend Dr. Georganne Greene is offering her services to individuals and families to help celebrate the life and recognize the passing of their animal companion. Reverend Greene will donate her services to offer a supportive presence and provide assistance in creating a ceremony of celebration to honor the life of a much loved companion animal.
Reverend Greene received her Masters of Divinity from Starr King School for the Ministry, Berkeley, CA; a doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts; MS from the University of North Carolina; and BS from University of Houston. Among her accomplishments, Reverend Greene has provided spiritual and organizational leadership to small and mid-sized congregations in Hampden County; participated in community based coalitions and councils including the Pioneer Valley Project and the Interfaith Council of Western MA; and led a community based team in New Orleans providing post-Katrina support and assistance.
Reverend Greene will be available by phone or personal appointment in the Amherst area each Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Those interested can contact Reverend Greene by phone at 413-256-1523 or via email gmagreene@aol.com.
