If you want to start right away...
There are quite a few volunteer opportunities that do not require special training- foster care, pet taxi, pet food bank program and organizing projects and events. These positions are always available, and/or do not require a long-term commitment. If you are interested in one of these opportunities, please read more about these positions at What Can I Do to Help as a Volunteer?.
for all other opportunities...
Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering with the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society! If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering with DPVHS, please join us at one of our upcoming Welcome Sessions.
The Welcome Session is the first step towards volunteering with DPVHS. At the Welcome Session you will learn about DPVHS and how you can become part of our team. All of your volunteer paperwork will be filled out the evening of the Welcome Session, and you can attend any Welcome Session regardless of which location you choose for volunteering.
No RSVP required, however, please plan to arrive five or ten minutes before the session starts so that you can look through the handouts.
Please note: You will only need to attend ONE of these sessions, as they all cover the same information.
